Job Description

Our organization is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Debt Collector to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial recovery strategies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate challenging conversations with both empathy and firmness. As a Debt Collector, you will be responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of past-due accounts, working to ensure that debts are recovered in a timely and professional manner. You will play a critical role in safeguarding the company’s financial well-being while providing a fair and transparent debt recovery process to our customers. Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily calls to reach out to customers regarding overdue accounts.
  • Negotiate payment plans in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all debt recovery interactions.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to reconcile customer accounts efficiently.
  • Prepare and send notices to customers informing them of their debt status.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase overall debt recovery rates.
  • Examine and resolve discrepancies in customer billing or account records.
  • Monitor and report on the status of assigned accounts regularly.
  • Provide support and guidance to customers experiencing financial difficulties.
  • Ensure compliance with all debt collection laws and regulations consistently.
  • Escalate complex cases to the management team for further assistance.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification is required.
  • Previous experience in debt collection or related financial field is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Familiarity with finance software and customer account management systems.
  • A proactive and empathetic approach to customer conversations and support.
