Job Description

The role of an Associate Buyer is a critical component within a procurement or retail organization, acting as a support resource for senior buyers and procurement managers. The Associate Buyer 21J25 is tasked with assisting in the selection and negotiation of goods and services, ensuring that products align with organizational goals regarding cost, quality, and delivery. This position requires an individual with a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage various tasks efficiently. The Associate Buyer not only helps manage supplier relationships but also aids in inventory management and market analysis to support strategic purchasing decisions. Responsibilities

  • Assist in sourcing products and negotiating purchase terms with suppliers effectively.
  • Prepare purchase orders and manage order tracking to ensure timely delivery.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated with trends and competitive pricing.
  • Collaborate with inventory management teams to align purchasing decisions with stock requirements.
  • Support senior buyers in analyzing supplier performance and quality assurance processes.
  • Help in maintaining a supplier database, including contact details and transaction histories.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure clear communication regarding product specifications.
  • Monitor industry trends and provide insights for strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Aid in the resolution of any supplier disputes or quality issues that arise.
  • Participate in supplier meetings, capturing detailed notes and action items.
  • Stay informed on legal and regulatory requirements affecting procurement processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years experience in a procurement or buying role preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess supplier capabilities and product qualities.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective negotiation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
