A Desktop Support Technician 16N25 plays a crucial role in maintaining and troubleshooting hardware and software systems used by an organization. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and assistance to computer users experiencing hardware or software issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues through phone, email, or in-person support.
  • Install, configure, and update desktop operating systems and software applications as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions in a ticketing system.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to implement and maintain cybersecurity measures and protocols.
  • Perform regular system maintenance to prevent hardware and software malfunctions.
  • Assist in setting up and conducting video conferencing sessions and other remote communication tools.
  • Educate users on best practices for efficient and secure computing environments.
  • Coordinate with vendors for the repair or replacement of defective hardware components.
  • Participate in the development and testing of new IT solutions before full-scale deployment.
  • Support disaster recovery plans including data backups and restoration procedures.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies that may enhance desktop support services.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Desktop Support Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a patient approach to troubleshooting tasks.
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
  • Familiarity with data recovery programs and basic cybersecurity protocols and tools.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional preferred.
