Job Description

The Accounts Payable Supervisor is a critical leadership role responsible for managing the accounts payable team and ensuring all financial obligations are met efficiently and accurately. This position demands a highly organized individual who can oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, strategizing improvements, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies as well as external regulations. The Supervisor will play a pivotal role in nurturing a positive work environment, driving team performance, and liaising with both internal departments and external vendors. With an eye for detail and strong analytical skills, the Accounts Payable Supervisor is dedicated to maintaining robust financial controls, fostering continuous improvement, and contributing to the financial health of the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the daily operations of the accounts payable department.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments.
  • Develop and implement procedures to enhance efficiency in the accounts payable process.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of the accounts payable staff.
  • Resolve escalated discrepancies and disputes with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports for management review.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to optimize cash flow management.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of internal controls over the accounts payable process.
  • Assist in the development of accounts payable budgets and forecasts.
  • Participate in audits, providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Lead or support projects aimed at implementing new technologies or system upgrades.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable or finance.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing an accounts payable team.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable practices.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and ERP systems like SAP or Oracle.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
