Job Description

An Accounts Payable Associate plays a crucial role in the financial operations section of any organization, ensuring that all the company's bills are paid timely and accurately. This position involves a high level of interaction with various departments to ensure that the financial commitments are in line with the company’s regulations. The Accounts Payable Associate will need to manage invoices, review transactions, and verify financial data to maintain the integrity of financial reports. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. In essence, the Associate helps safeguard the company's financial resources by ensuring accurate disbursement of funds.


Responsibilities

  • Review and verify invoices and check requests for accuracy and compliance.
  • Sort, code, and match invoices and set them up for payment.
  • Enter and upload invoice information into the accounting system accurately.
  • Prepare and perform check runs and electronic transfers for payments.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and organized vendor files and records for audit purposes.
  • Track expenses, process expense reports, and maintain expense records.
  • Provide support during month-end closing processes and prepare reports.
  • Assist with implementing accounts payable policies and internal controls.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors to resolve payment issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial objectives at all times.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to improve payment processes and efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounts payable role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks or SAP, required.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills necessary.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain vendor relations.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
