TEAM LEAD TECHNICAL MANAGER

Job Description

Role Overview The Team Lead / Technical Manager leads multiple product teams and serves as the single point of accountability for deliverables across the product portfolio, covering design, analysis, testing, manufacturing, qualification, and production. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, planning, and cross-functional coordination. The position is responsible for setting the technical direction and quality standards for deliverables, reviewing and owning design documentation and development processes, and ensuring manufacturability, qualification, certification, and delivery success. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership Break larger problems into smaller tasks and assign them to team member(s). Mentor and technically supervise team members. Conduct design reviews. Allocate work and conduct reviews. Develop team capability. Ensure completeness and quality of deliverables. Ensure readiness for submission to customers and certification agencies. Customer & Certification Coordination Coordinate with customers and certification agencies. Ensure timely completion of milestones. Provide remote and on-field support for testing at customer locations. Vendor & Procurement Support Identify and provide vendor leads for testing. Identify and provide vendor leads for raw material procurement. Identify and provide vendor leads for test equipment procurement. Quality & Compliance Ensure AS9100D implementation and execution. Project Management Own the schedule and deliverables for assigned products. Coordinate with shared teams. Track leading and lagging indicators. Identify risks early and mitigate them while working closely with the leaders. Required Qualifications B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech. in Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Instrumentation, or any other relevant field. 6–12 years of relevant experience. Experience in Aerospace or Defence Aerospace. Prior experience on projects requiring certification by CEMILAC/RCMA/DGAQA/CRI/DGCA. Prior experience of working with HAL/BEL as a customer. Prior experience of working in HAL/BEL/DRDO. Knowledge of IMTAR 21 V2.0 and IMAP 2023. Prior experience of working in an AS9100D framework environment. Key Skills & Competencies Sound fundamentals in Science and Engineering, especially: Analog circuits Digital circuits Power electronics circuits Magnetism Induction Transformers PCB Design Circuit Design Strong organizational skills. Problem-solving attitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn. Demonstrated experience in traceable technical documentation. Quality and compliance mindset. Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of product development through qualification and into production. Clear written and verbal communication skills in English. Hands-on comfort with laboratory instruments: Oscilloscope Multimeter Function Generator Power Supplies Good fundamentals of MIL-STDs, MIL-PRFs, MIL-SPECs, MOPS, GOST, and other Defence and Aerospace Standards, including: MIL-STD-810 JSS 55555 MIL-STD-461 RTCA DO-160 GOST Protocols Knowledge and experience in reading: Datasheets Standards White Papers Patents IEEE publications Research Papers Aerospace Documentation Experience Prior experience in writing and reviewing Aerospace Documentation such as: QTP ATP FTP MDI BOM Drawings & Schematics LQTP SDD SRS QAP Product Exposure The product portfolio includes: Sensors: Vibration, Pressure, Thermo-Chipping, RPM, Tachometer Avionics: Ignition Exciter Unit Actuation Sub-System: Electro-Hydraulic Booster Electro-Mechanical Sub-Systems and Actuators Stabilization and Control Systems Additional Requirement: Experience of working with Sensors or Instrumentation is a plus.
