Tax Advisor - Senior

Job Description

Responsible for the preparation and timely submission of UK and Irish VAT returns (possible expansion to other jurisdictions), using VAT return automation software and data manipulation software. Management of 3 junior team members supporting data extraction and indirect tax compliance in other jurisdictions. Ensure GL reconciliations are undertaken and lead data improvement initiatives. Partnering with the AP and AR teams to ensure tax data point accuracy and adherence to tax relevant processes and controls. The ideal candidate will be a proficient user of Excel and ideally have experience with data manipulation tools such as Alteryx. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of tax, turning data into actionable insights and fostering a culture of continuous innovation.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include:

• Preparation of the UK VAT returns and VAT group consolidation
• Ensure GL reconciliations are undertaken timely and accurately
• Preparation of Irish VAT returns
• Manage 3 direct reports supporting Indirect Tax compliance in other jurisdictions
• Lead data improvement initiatives working closely with Oracle and systems teams
• Partnering with AP and AR shared services, provision of training and guidance as required
• Support with the role out of e-invoicing as required
  
  

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

• Accounting, Finance or Tax related qualification at degree level
  
  

Knowledge of

• In depth knowledge of UK Indirect Tax compliance requirements
• The use of ERP/accounting systems to manage Indirect Tax (preferably Oracle)
• Knowledge of data management, use of Excel and other data manipulation tools such as Alteryx
• Indirect tax compliance in other jurisdictions preferable
  
  

Experience of

• Preparing UK VAT returns and working with complex data sets
• Working with a complex ERP system, preferably Oracle
• Managing relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties
• Data manipulation tools, such as Alteryx
• Managing a team
