AI at Cvent: Leading the Future

Are you ready to shape the future of work at the intersection of human expertise and AI innovation? At Cvent, we’re committed to continuous learning and adaptation—AI isn’t just a tool for us, it’s part of our DNA. We’re looking for candidates who are eager to evolve alongside technology. If you love to experiment boldly, share your discoveries, and help define best practices for AI-augmented work, you’ll thrive here. Our team values professionals who thoughtfully integrate AI into their daily work, delivering exceptional results while relying on the human judgment and creativity that drive real innovation.

Throughout our interview process, you’ll have the chance to demonstrate how you use AI to learn, iterate, and amplify your impact. If you’re excited to be part of a team that’s leading the way in AI-powered collaboration, we’d love to meet you.

We’re a scaled SaaS company where Snowflake is the core data platform, not an experiment. We’re building AI-ready, analytics-grade data models and AI-powered analytics (NLQ, RAG, intelligent workflows) directly on Snowflake. We’re looking for a hands-on Snowflake Developer who loves designing robust data transformations, building semantic and feature layers, and enabling new-age AI and analytics for engineers, analysts, and business users.

If you enjoy solving real data problems on a scale and want to go deep into modern AI-on-data platforms, this role is for you.

What You’ll Work On

Snowflake Development & Data Transformation

  • Design and build end-to-end data transformation flows in Snowflake that turn raw data into clean, well-modeled, and reusable datasets for analytics and AI.
  • Develop and optimize layered data models (staging, curated, semantic, feature tables) using best-practice dimensional and wide-table designs.
  • Write high-quality, performant SQL and tuning logic (clustering, pruning, caching) to keep transformations fast and cost-efficient.
  • Implement reusable SQL transformation patterns and coding standards so that other engineers and analysts can build on top of your work.
  • Collaborate with upstream teams to ensure source data is fit for downstream transformation, including basic checks, contracts, and conventions.

(Note: movement of data into Snowflake exists, but the core of this role is what happens after the data lands—modeling, transforming, and optimizing it.)

AI & Analytics on Snowflake

  • Support and implement NLQ, RAG, and AI-driven analytics workflows on Snowflake, with a focus on how data is structured and transformed to power them.
  • Work with Snowflake Cortex, Snowpark, and Snowflake Notebooks where needed, primarily to enhance and operationalize SQL-based transformations and AI-enriched datasets.
  • Help design and maintain embeddings-ready datasets, feature tables, and vector-friendly schemas for search, recommendations, and other AI features.
  • Partner with product and analytics teams to integrate Snowflake-backed AI outputs into downstream applications, dashboards, and workflows.

Production Readiness & Operations

  • Monitor transformations and workloads for performance, reliability, and cost, and proactively optimize where needed.
  • Implement lightweight observability for data transformations: logging, alerts, data reasonableness/quality checks, and usage patterns.
  • Follow and improve governance, security, and access control best practices in Snowflake.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with data engineers, AI engineers, analysts, and product teams to define data needs and design transformation logic that fits use cases.
  • Translate business and analytics requirements into clean, maintainable Snowflake solutions and shared data assets.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and POCs for new Snowflake and AI features, with a focus on data modeling and transformation design.

What We’re Looking For

Must-haves

  • 3-8 years of experience in data engineering, analytics development, or data warehousing, with a strong bias toward data modeling and transformation work.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake in production environments, including performance tuning and cost-conscious design.
  • Very strong SQL skills and experience building complex transformation logic (multi-step models, slowly changing dimensions, aggregations, feature tables). SQL will be your primary language here.
  • Exposure to AI/ML data use cases (e.g., NLQ, RAG, embeddings, feature generation) and an interest in building AI-ready data layers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced SaaS product environment with evolving data and AI needs.

Good to have

  • Experience with Snowflake Cortex or other Snowflake AI features.
  • Familiarity with vector search, embeddings, or ML pipelines, especially from a data-prep and feature-engineering perspective.
  • Some experience with Snowpark (Python) or other Python-based tooling to complement SQL when needed (e.g., complex transformations, AI experiments).
  • Background in SaaS, analytics platforms, or multi-tenant systems.
  • SnowPro or cloud data certifications (AWS / Azure / GCP).
