The Opportunity

General Field Sales work includes face-to-face and remote selling to both new and existing customers including: Selling directly to the end consumer/business purchaser or indirectly through various sales channels. Assessing customer needs and suggesting appropriate products, services, and/or solutions. Developing and delivering sales bids, presentations, and proposals and conducting product demonstrations. Identifying and contacting prospective customers and building relationships to generate future sales and repeat business Incumbents matching to this specialization are compensated based on achievement of sales targets. An Experienced Professional (P2) applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. May require the following proficiency: Works independently with general supervision. Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex. May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Evaluation of customer documentation and interpretation of their needs, as well as assessment of commercial terms and conditions. Establish long term customer relationships by understanding customer requirements and applicable regulations and demonstrating in-depth technical service product/solutions knowledge to promote Life Cycle Management (LCM). Registers customer feedback and ensures customer satisfaction throughout the sales process
  • To deliver the full HVDC service sales cycle from opportunity generation to need identification, presentation/offer response, negotiation and closing. Develop new forms of collaboration with our customers and promote our advanced digital solutions.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and pipeline management. Realization of division budget objectives established for orders, revenues and profit margins.
  • Develop customer-specific proposals that include both technical and commercial elements, and draft contracts. This involves adhering to the company’s tendering policies and applying technical expertise in HVDC Service solutions. Tasks include analyzing customer requirements, designing tailored solutions, preparing detailed cost estimates, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Learn and utilize tools and processes for managing proposals, such as the Go-No Go process and Risk Review guidelines.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, project management, finance, and legal, to gather necessary information for bids.
  • Work effectively with other Sales/Business Units to create value for customer and drive negotiations until Contract signing.
  • Offer customer-specific service solutions to create value, and drive negotiations until contract signing.
  • Perform risk assessments and address any concerns from clients or internal teams.
  • Ensure all bids comply with client requirements and company policies.
  • Develop and implement effective bid strategies to increase the chances of winning.
  • Review all bid documents for accuracy and completeness before submission.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • Candidate should have diploma /B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience in Energy sector. Knowledge of HVDC, FACTS, substations, power and quality solutions.
  • Drive to exceed goals and improve business practices.
  • Define personal plans within the larger strategy and contribute beyond own area.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and facilitate collaboration; Challenge, create, and drive change.
  • Function well across cultures and act as a facilitator between cultures; Prioritize customers, partners, and markets; Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-reliance, reliability, creativity, problem-solving, and goal-oriented.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
