Overview
The Sales Development Associate is an essential member of the Inside Sales team, responsible for generating early-stage pipeline through proactive outbound outreach and collaboration with other Business Development resources and service-line teams. This role emphasizes professional growth and provides a structured pathway into more senior Business Development roles or Account Management roles.
Key Responsibilities
Outbound Prospecting & Outreach
Conduct outbound outreach via phone, email, social channels, and intent-based tools.
Conduct effective business and technical discovery sessions to articulate a clear, tailored value proposition.
Adhere to Inside Sales Rules of Engagement (ROE) and CRM pre-outreach requirements.
Pipeline Generation
Schedule introductory meetings for Business Development Directors, Business Development Managers, Account Managers/Executives, and Business Development Senior Associates.
Maintain high outreach activity levels leveraging CRM and sales engagement platforms.
Support go-to-market campaigns, webinars, and events with timely follow-up (outbound only).
Collaboration & Communication
Partner closely with Inside Sales Specialists, Business Development, Practice resources, and Marketing teams.
Provide clear documentation and notes in CRM to ensure seamless handoff.
Participate in weekly team huddles, call reviews, and skill-development sessions.
Suggest process improvements to enhance conversion and efficiency.
Leverage firm-approved sales tools (e.g., CRM, AI toolsets, relationship mapping, meeting preparation, and analytics) to inform pursuit strategy.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Comfort with high-volume outreach and continuous learning.
Curiosity and interest in professional services, accounting, or consulting industries.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience with CRM platforms and sales engagement tools.
Proficient use of AI toolsets
Ability to contribute to presentation and proposal preparation.
Develop lead generation content for campaigns, social channels, and individual pursuits in partnership with Marketing.
Desire to grow into Business Development roles.
