Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a skilled MicroStrategy Cloud Administrator to manage and optimize MicroStrategy environments in cloud settings. This role involves deploying, configuring, and maintaining MicroStrategy platforms on cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), ensuring high performance, security, and scalability. The MicroStrategy Cloud Admin will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support analytics and reporting initiatives, driving business insights through a reliable and efficient BI ecosystem.
Software Requirements
- Required:
- MicroStrategy (Intelligence Server, Web, Mobile) – version 2021 or later
- Cloud platform management tools (AWS Management Console, Azure Portal, GCP Console)
- SQL database management (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent)
- Monitoring and performance tools (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, GCP Operations)
- Preferred:
- MicroStrategy MicroApp, SDKs, APIs
- Automation and scripting tools (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
- Cloud infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Overall Responsibilities
- Deploy and configure MicroStrategy components within cloud environments
- Maintain platform health, performance, and security
- Manage user access, roles, and data governance in accordance with best practices
- Monitor cloud infrastructure for optimal resource utilization and cost efficiency
- Collaborate with development, analytics, and business teams to support project delivery
- Troubleshoot platform issues, perform routine maintenance, and implement upgrades
- Optimize system performance through tuning, caching, and workload balancing
- Assist in migration and upgrade projects to ensure seamless transitions
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations and processes
Technical Skills (By Category)
- Programming Languages:
- Required: SQL, basic scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python)
- Preferred: Java, REST API integrations
- Databases/Data Management:
- Required: Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Preferred: Data modeling, metadata management, data cubes
- Cloud Technologies:
- Required: AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud management and security best practices
- Preferred: Cloud automation tools, infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Frameworks and Libraries:

Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience managing MicroStrategy environments, including cloud deployments
- Proven experience with deploying, tuning, and maintaining MicroStrategy platforms in cloud settings
- Knowledge of cloud networking, storage, security, and cost optimization
- Industry experience in finance, healthcare, retail, or similar sectors is preferred
- Alternative pathways include extensive experience in BI platform administration and cloud system management
Day-to-Day Activities
- Daily monitoring of platform health and performance metrics
- Implementing patches, upgrades, and backups
- Collaborating with teams to troubleshoot incidents and resolve issues promptly
- Managing user access, roles, and security policies
- Participating in deployment planning, migration, and capacity planning meetings
- Documenting configurations and updating operational procedures
- Providing support and training to end-users and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Relevant certifications such as MicroStrategy Certified Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer, or equivalent are preferred
- Ongoing professional development in cloud technologies, BI platforms, and security practices
