Job Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end execution of engineering programs from concept, design, validation, and launch.
  • Develop and manage program timelines, resource plans, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Possess a strong understanding of product development lifecycle and engineering processes.
  • Design & development of structural parts/ chassis of air-conditioners
  • Development of tool & mould for sheet metal & plastic components
  • Guidance to team - structural design engineering
  • Design reviews & action planning
  • Good knowledge of part costing & cost anaylsis
  • Management of CAD resources, allocation of the work & guidance
  • Material analysis & selections for tool, mould.
  • DFM & A for structural parts.
  • Structural testing & analysis of parts, products
  • Parts development/ localization activities, support to suppliers
  • Review the tooling requirements and optimize investments
  • Design & process FMEA, RRCA
  • 3D software & design data management
  • Drawings review & tolerance analysis
  • Support to suppliers & supply chain for parts development

Education Preferred

Bachelors / master’s degree in mechanical engineering

Diploma in Tool Design (preferred)

Experience Preferred

Design & development for parts & tool, mould (10+ years of experience) required as below:

Essential Competencies/ Primary Skill Set

    • Strong new product design & development competence on structure/ chassis design (preference to VRF / commercial products work experience)
    • Experience in 3D/ 2D software & awareness of CAE tools (SolidWorks, ProE / Creo, AutoCAD, Unigraphics Nx mandatory)
    • Understanding of tool & mould development
    • Knowledge of tool design & machining
    • DFM&A knowledge
    • Experience in structural, qualification & reliability testing
    • Rich knowledge of material properties
    • Dimensioning & Tolerance analysis
    • Machine / tool process knowledge (at suppliers ends) for development of parts
    • CAD management (Resources, design standardization, schedule)
    • VAVE (Value Analysis Value Engineering)
Other Competencies

    • Understanding of the entire new product development process.
    • Strong English communication skills - oral and written.
    • Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment.
    • Analytical thinking and problem solving
    • Ability to quickly learn new concepts and products is necessary.
    • Passionate about building high-quality designs & implement in factories.
