Job Responsibilities
Responsible for monitoring plant equipment and machinery to identify potential issues, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and minimal downtime and costs.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment availability & energy efficiency.
Maintain compliance with all safety, regulatory, and industry standards through regular audits, policy enforcement, and team awareness.
Responsible for managing internal resources and coordinating with external vendors for specialized maintenance activities, contract negotiation, and performance monitoring.
Execute Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Objectives in the team, communicate and drive accountability to the results in Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost
Lead a strong TPM culture within the plant and drive a 5S & Kaizen culture within the team to ensure that the Standards of Excellence are delivered.
Responsible for maintaining the availability of critical spares and consumables through effective inventory control for Maintenance.
Responsible for managing maintenance expenses, budgeting for routine activities, equipment reconditioning/ upgradation projects, and low-cost automation integration.
Create, revise & standardize the systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices (such as SOP’s, Control plan, etc.) and monitoring the forms of control and implementing changes in coordination and support of the Department Leader.
Assist the Department Leader in delivering Opex and Capex related projects & ensure high levels of supply Quality.
Manage employee relations, shift planning, and performance management to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Record and analyze non-conformities, initiate corrective action/guide on implementation of corrective/preventive action to the subordinates for compliance with IMS in the Maintenance Process.
Accountable for planning and executing Annual shutdown maintenance activities.
Accountable for reviewing the Operators Skill Matrix, identifying skill gaps, and developing corresponding training plans.
Accountable for conducting asset audits and verifications to determine asset conditions (e.g., working or suitable for write-off).
Strategic Responsibilities
Strong understanding of Mechanical maintenance principles, predictive maintenance techniques, and root cause analysis.
Identify, plan & execute capital expenditure projects in collaboration with the Leader and maintenance team.
Support the Department Leader in executing the company’s strategy and vision and be a part of developing plans to materialize the strategy on aspects of Process, People, and Technology.
Create Value Stream Maps and continuously identify opportunities to facilitate an efficient process and information flow.
Identify and execute Cost improvement projects (related to automation, productivity improvement, energy efficiency, operating supplies) in collaboration with the Operational Excellence department.
Handling contract management for the plant maintenance and other related activities.
Internal Stakeholders
All production departments, EHS, OE, MO, Procurement, HR, Maintenance, and Quality.
External Stakeholders
Standards auditors, Equipment suppliers, OEMs, and third-party service providers for maintenance, repairs, and installations.
Required Skills And Capabilities
Team management and coaching.
Budgeting and financial planning.
Inventory management and strategic planning.
Project management and Leadership skills
Knowledge on Value stream mapping & TPM
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SAP, Google Sheets, MS Office, and ceramic manufacturing processes.
Academia
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Preferred Industrial Background
Engineering and manufacturing industries background.
Continuous process industry like – Sanitaryware/Ceramic /FMCG/Automobile/Cement/Oil & Gas/Steel/Paper.
Professional Experience
Having a minimum. 10+ years of experience in the manufacturing or engineering industries.
