Senior Mechanical Engineer – Combined Cycle Power Plants

At Tractebel, part of the ENGIE Group, we engineer solutions that power the energy transition and improve lives worldwide. We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy team in India and shape the future of combined cycle power plant design.

Your expertise will directly contribute to first-of-its-kind projects across the energy sector. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineers, delivering innovative and efficient solutions for complex power generation challenges.

What You'll Do

• Provide technical leadership in the basic and detailed design of main plant components, including Gas Turbines, Heat Recovery Steam Generators, and Steam Turbines.
• Conduct feasibility studies and prepare detailed project reports to assess viability of combined cycle power plant projects.
• Prepare essential design documentation such as Design Criteria, PFDs, P&IDs, system descriptions, sizing calculations, and Requests for Proposal.
• Coordinate with equipment vendors to ensure components meet required international standards and specifications.
• Apply international standards including ASME, HEI, ASME-TDP, API, and HIS across all design activities.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  
  

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• 10 to 18 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a strong focus on combined cycle power plant design.
• In-depth knowledge of hydraulic systems and pumps commonly used in combined cycle plants.
• Proven proficiency with international standards such as ASME, HEI, ASME-TDP, and API.
• Experience preparing PFDs, P&IDs, design criteria, tender evaluations, and vendor engineering documents.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly in writing and verbally.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
