Job Description – Head of Operations (Gold Buying / Gold Loan NBFC)

Position Title: Head of Operations

Reporting To: Founder

Location: NCR (Gurugram)

Working Model: 6 days, on-site

Industry Mandate: Gold Buying / Gold Loan (Strictly)

Role Context

We are hiring a senior Head of Operations to lead and scale a fast-growing, founder-led gold buying business. This role requires a hands-on operator with deep experience in gold procurement, valuation, branch operations, and bullion/refining cycles.

The ideal candidate will come from family-run or mid-sized gold loan NBFCs or gold buying companies, and must be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, high-ownership environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Operations Leadership

Own and drive complete P&L-linked operations across branch network

Manage gold buying lifecycle: customer acquisition → valuation → purchase → refining → resale

Ensure operational efficiency across multiple branches / clusters

2. Branch Network Management

Lead regional / zonal / cluster managers across locations

Drive branch productivity, gold volumes, and profitability metrics

Standardize SOPs across all branches

3. Gold Buying & Valuation Expertise

Strong understanding of:

Gold purity testing (Karat analysis)

Pricing benchmarks linked to bullion rates

Customer negotiation in gold buying transactions

Ensure fraud control, quality checks, and compliance

4. Supply Chain: Refining & Bullion

Oversee backend processes:

Gold aggregation

Refining partnerships

Bullion resale cycles

Optimize margins through efficient gold liquidation strategy

5. Team Leadership & Culture Fit

Build and manage high-performance operations teams

Work closely with Founder on business scaling strategy

Thrive in a family-business, fast-decision environment

6. Process & Compliance

Implement strong risk, audit, and compliance frameworks

Ensure adherence to NBFC / financial operational standards (where applicable)

Target Candidate Profile (STRICT FIT)

Must-Have Experience

10–18 years in: Gold Buying Companies (mandatory preferred)

OR Gold Loan NBFCs (branch/network operations)

Currently / previously handling:

Branch Network / Regional / Zonal Operations

High-volume gold transactions

Key Competencies
