How will you make an impact in this role?

We are looking for a Lead SDET to drive the test automation strategy across our web and API platforms. You will own the automation architecture, mentor a team of SDETs/QA engineers, and partner closely with development and product teams to ensure high-quality, reliable releases. This role requires hands-on expertise in RestAssured (API automation) and Playwright (UI/E2E automation), along with strong leadership and CI/CD integration experience.

Education : Bachelor's / Master's in Software Engineering/MBA is a plus.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Playwright for UI/E2E testing and RestAssured for API test automation
• Define and drive the overall test automation strategy, tooling, and best practices across teams
• Lead, mentor, and review the work of SDETs and QA engineers; conduct code reviews for automation scripts
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps to embed quality early in the SDLC (shift-left testing)
• Design test strategies for functional, regression, integration, performance, and API testing
• Analyze test results, flaky tests, and coverage gaps; drive continuous improvement in test reliability and execution speed
• Establish metrics and dashboards for test coverage, defect trends, and release quality
• Own technical decisions around framework architecture, tool selection, and automation ROI
• Coach team members on automation best practices, coding standards, and debugging techniques
  
  

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in test automation/SDET roles, with proven leadership experience
• Mandatory hands-on expertise in RestAssured for REST API test automation (Java-based)
• Mandatory hands-on expertise in Playwright for UI/E2E test automation (Java/TypeScript/JavaScript)
• Strong programming skills in Java and/or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, JSON/XML, HTTP methods, and API testing concepts (auth, headers, status codes, schema validation)
• Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber/Gherkin) is a plus
• Familiarity with test management tools (Jira, TestRail, Zephyr)
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
