Job Description
As part of the Financial Reporting Quality Assurance Organization (FRQA) within Corporate Controllership, the Service Management (SM) team is a techno-functional group responsible for supporting the system operations function for US Regulatory Reporting, Reserve Bank of India Regulatory Reporting, BASEL Production Support capabilities. This team has a holistic understanding of the data sources, processes, and outputs, and the ability to trouble-shoot and resolve problems related to the numerous data sources and processing involved on various Finance technology systems.
Purpose
This role will primarily be focused on Regulatory Reporting (RBI & Basel) operational process planning, run execution and report delivery. Included in the scope of work is impact assessment of production changes and the update of E2E process flows and runbooks. Additionally, this role will work closely with process and system owners across the organization to document, track, and resolve operational processing issues.
Responsibilities
This analyst role is responsible for ensuring operational processes are accurately monitored and executed according to the run book & operational calendar. Responsibilities include:
- Support in documenting, tracking, and resolving issues & changes impacting the operational processes. Prepare documentation, runbooks, dashboards, reporting and presentations
- Business communication regarding progress on open items. Raising production incidents and driving issue resolution through tactical fixes, root cause analysis, permanent fixes
- Responsible for planning and ensuring successful completion of operational activities. Prepare status updates and capture processing statistics
- Retrieve and analyze the data from underlying analytical/operational databases to develop understanding and identify process improvements to gain efficiencies
- Assist with the identification, development, testing and monitoring of operational controls as per respective process PRSA and Amex wide Issue Management guidelines
- Open to working extended (sporadically though) hours and on weekends on a rotational basis
Qualifications
Qualifications & Behavioral Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Computer Science
- Good communication both written and verbal, facilitation, and presentation writing skills
- Creative, analytical and adaptive mindset
- Experience working on a globally and culturally diverse team and supporting global processes Ability to define, map and document a business process through process flows or other related documents
- Transformational approach to re-engineer processes to solve business problems and drive improvements
- Strong relationship management including collaborating, and extensively coordinating with internal and external partners
Technical Skills & Knowledge of Platforms
- Knowledge of scheduling tools (Airflow/GCP Composer) is required
- Basic knowledge with GCP/Cloud, SQL & Big Query skillset is recommended
- Preferred familiarity with Amex project methodology (SDLC, Agile) and related testing methodologies. Prior testing experience is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience in AI/ML is preferred.
- Experience with Oracle Analytics Server (OAS), BI Publisher, Tableau or similar analytical toolset is recommended
- Experience with American Express accounting and reporting processes, (including financial and regulatory reporting) is desirable
