Engineer II Software Development (Full Stack – Platform Experience)

Team Description 

Join the Platform Experience team, a core group within our GPTO Engineering organization, where you will report to the Director of Engineering. Our team is on a mission to provide the unshakeable foundation of trust, security, and scale for the entire Anaplan ecosystem. We empower our internal developers and external partners to build with speed and confidence. 

Your Impact 

  • Contribute significantly to the design and execution of our Platform Experience, playing a vital role across Product Security, Platform Management, and Data Integration initiatives. 
  • Design, build, and maintain the highly available, secure, and scalable services that form the backbone of our platform. 
  • Champion engineering excellence through high-quality, hands-on coding, collaborative design reviews, and mentorship of junior engineers on our backend technology stack (Java, Kotlin, Go, .NET). 
  • Actively participate in technical planning, contribute to our teams strategy, and engage in critical incident retrospectives to foster a culture of continuous improvement. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and other engineering groups, to deliver robust and reliable platform solutions. 

 

Preferred Skills 

  • Experience with private and public cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure). 
  • Proven ability to influence your teams technical decisions and lead projects to completion. 
  • A passion for mentoring other engineers and elevating the teams capabilities. 
  • Experience with CI/CD best practicesinfrastructure-as-code tools (like Terraform). 

 

Your Qualifications 

  • A strong seniority in full-stack web development ideally using Frontend technologies such as TypeScript, Node.js, React.js, Redux and Backend such as Java, Kotlin, Spring Framework, MySQL 
  • Proficiency in using REST APIs or similar for data integration. 
  • Experience working in production with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP or Azure. 
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, Helm 
  • Experience with building observability into services to track usage and health (Grafana stack) 
  • A deep understanding of the value of testing to deliver a high-quality product. 
  • Working knowledge of containers and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes. 
  • Experience working closely with product management and UX teams to deliver the best solution to the problem at hand. 
  • A strong background in fostering a culture of continuous delivery, test automation and agile development. 
  • Experience in ExpressJS/Next.js, Webpack, WebSocket, Gulp are a plus 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills - you are pragmatic and know how to build trust. 
  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
