Role Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our core engineering team and help scale Trakkia, our flagship platform. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building reliable backend systems, designing scalable APIs, and working closely with product and frontend teams in a fast-moving product environment.

You’ll own backend features end-to-end, from design to production, and play a key role in shaping system architecture as we scale.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Django and Django REST Framework
• Build scalable, secure APIs and integrate them with React-based frontends and third-party services
• Model and optimize data using PostgreSQL, ensuring performance and data integrity
• Collaborate closely with Frontend, Product, QA, and IoT teams to deliver end-to-end features
• Handle schema design, migrations, and performance tuning for growing datasets
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices
• Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions

What We’re Looking For

• 4–7 years of backend development experience with strong Django expertise
• Proven experience building and scaling production-grade APIs
• Solid understanding of relational databases, especially PostgreSQL
• Experience working in product-based or startup environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to performance, security, and reliability
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
• Clear communication skills and ownership mindset
  
  
  

Good to Have

• Experience with IoT, RFID, or asset-tracking systems
• Exposure to AWS services and cloud-native architectures
• Familiarity with asynchronous processing, background workers, or queues
• Prior experience in logistics, supply chain, or industrial SaaS platforms
