Job Title: Data Visualization & Analytics Design Lead (Assistant Director)
The Opportunity
EY’s Global Insights team is looking for a Data Visualization & Analytics Design Lead who can transform complex data into compelling visual narratives and intuitive digital experiences.
This role goes beyond traditional dashboarding. You will shape how insights are communicated across EY by designing interactive, narrative-driven data experiences for both external thought leadership (EY.com) and internal analytics products.
You will work at the intersection of data, design, and technology, partnering with researchers, analysts, data scientists, and engineers to create best-in-class visualization and analytics solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Data Storytelling & Visualization
Lead the design of data-driven narratives that communicate complex insights clearly and effectively
Translate analytical outputs into compelling visual stories and interactive experiences
Design interactive visualizations, exploratory tools, and storytelling interfaces for EY.com
Identify key insights within datasets and present them using best-in-class visualization techniques
Analytics Product & UX Design
Lead UI/UX design for analytics products including dashboards, platforms, and tools
Design user-centered, intuitive analytics interfaces that enhance decision-making
Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs are scalable and production-ready
Drive consistency in design systems, interaction patterns, and user experience
Innovation & Capability Building
Establish best practices in data visualization, storytelling, and interaction design
Introduce modern approaches such as interactive storytelling, web-based visualization, and narrative analytics
Mentor team members and elevate design maturity across EY Insights
Conduct design workshops, usability testing, and feedback sessions
Skills & Experience
Must-Have Skills
Strong experience in Data Visualization, Data Storytelling, and Information Design
Proven experience in UI/UX design for analytics or data products
Expertise in designing interactive dashboards and visualization experiences
Ability to translate complex data into clear, engaging visual communication
Experience working with cross-functional teams (data scientists, analysts, engineers)
Technical Skills (Must-Have)
Power BI (or similar BI tools)
D3.js / JavaScript-based visualization libraries
HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Figma (or similar design/prototyping tools)
Good-to-Have Skills
Experience with tools like Flourish, Adobe Creative Suite
Knowledge of SQL, JSON, SVG, Power Query, DAX
Experience in web-based and front-end visualization development
Exposure to interactive storytelling platforms and digital publishing
