Delivery Lead - Data Engineer

Job Purpose

The data engineer will lead end‑to‑end delivery of data transformation and migration initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Snowflake, SQL, DBT, and Python, along with the ability to interpret and modernize complex Excel‑based business logic. This role requires direct client interaction, technical leadership, and ownership of project outcomes.

oWorking experience with dbt (models, tests, dependencies)

oExperience with Airflow (DAG concepts, scheduling, retries)

oExperience interpreting legacy Excel + VBA / macro-based logic

oPython for file ingestion and preprocessing

oFamiliarity with Azure or Microsoft cloud environments

• Act as the primary technical interface with client stakeholders

oExisting Excel + VBA processes

oBusiness rules embedded in macros

oData validation, reconciliation, and reporting needs

• Translate business workflows into technical designs and pipelines
• Design an end-to-end data architecture using:
  
  

oSnowflake for data storage and computation

odbt for SQL based transformations

oAirflow for orchestration and scheduling

• Decide appropriate placement of logic:
  
  

oPython for ingestion/preprocessing

odbt/SQL for core transformations

• Develop Snowflake SQL and dbt models
• Implement validation and reconciliation logic comparing outputs to legacy Excel
