Summary:
As an SAP SD Returns Management Consultant, you will execute configuration, build and test work to an approved design, accountable for the quality of your own deliverables for Returns Management within the Commercial / Order to Cash tower of the DRS SAP programme. The role exists to own returns and reverse logistics, a process spanning customer credit, physical stock disposition and revenue reversal simultaneously.
Delivery quality is personal at this level. Performance is assessed on configuration that holds under integration test, on defect recurrence, and on documentation complete enough for another engineer to assume ownership. AI-assisted engineering is expected as standard practice, with every generated output validated before transport.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Scope & Decision Rights: Execute within an approved design. You determine how a configuration item is built, tested and documented design changes, scope calls and estimates are escalated to the workstream lead.
Advanced Returns Management: Configure advanced returns management in S/4HANA, including returns order types, inspection codes, follow-up activity determination and refund determination.
Returns Logistics: Set up returns delivery and goods receipt into the correct stock type, including blocked, quality inspection and scrap dispositions, with the warehouse and inventory teams.
Credit & Refund Flow: Configure refund and credit memo determination so that the financial reversal matches the physical disposition decision rather than preceding it.
Returns Analytics & Reason Codes: Execute and maintain returns reason code design and the reporting that lets the business see why goods are coming back, not just how many.
Integration & Dependencies: Work with Inventory Management and EWM for stock disposition, with Billing for credit memo flow, and with Procurement where return-to-supplier is in scope.
Delivery Execution & Quality: Deliver assigned configuration, build and test items against sprint commitments, with configuration rationale, unit test evidence and cutover steps documented to handover standard.
Defect Diagnosis & Resolution: Investigate defects and incidents affecting returns backlogs where stock disposition and customer credit have fallen out of step, isolating root cause across configuration, master data and interface layers and confirming resolution through regression.
AI-Assisted Engineering & Joule: Apply AI assistants to analyse returns document flow, generate disposition scenario test cases and summarise reason code data, validating every generated output against system behaviour before transport. Use SAP Joule for Consultants for configuration guidance and troubleshooting, and flag manual steps in the module that are candidates for a Joule agent.
Knowledge Transfer: Document reusable configuration patterns, support analysts joining the workstream, and escalate blockers promptly.
Collaboration: Work with functional leads, test teams and downstream modules, reporting item status in terms of delivery impact.

Professional & Technical Skills:
Must-Have Skills
Advanced Returns Management: Hands-on configuration of ARM in SAP S/4HANA, including returns order types, inspection and follow-up activity determination.
Returns Document Flow: Working expertise in returns order, returns delivery, goods receipt and credit memo document flow and copy control.
Stock Disposition: Working knowledge of stock types, movement types and disposition handling for returned goods.
Refund Determination: Practical experience configuring refund and credit determination rules aligned to commercial policy.
Cross-Functional Diagnosis: Capability to trace a returns problem across SD, MM and FI rather than stopping at the module boundary.
AI-Assisted Delivery: Evidenced use of AI coding and analysis assistants in live SAP delivery, demonstrable through the specific outputs produced and the validation applied.
SAP Joule for Consultants: Working use of SAP Joule for Consultants in configuration and troubleshooting, including verification of the guidance returned against actual system behaviour. Where prior Joule exposure is absent, working proficiency is expected within 90 days of joining.
Evidence of AI Adoption: Demonstrable adoption of AI in delivery work. This may be evidenced through use of AI coding or analysis assistants, or through equivalent contribution such as reusable accelerators, scripted automation of recurring delivery tasks, or codified patterns adopted by others.
Delivery Discipline: Record of meeting sprint commitments on an enterprise SAP programme, with defect and rework rates that withstood review.
Ownership & Communication: Capable of working an ambiguous defect to root cause independently and of stating clearly when a committed date is at risk.

Additional Information:
A 15-year full-time education is required, as stated in the approved demand record.

Hands-on configuration and build experience across at least one full SAP implementation or major rollout.
Specific, evidenced examples of AI-assisted work in a production SAP delivery context.
Working proficiency in SAP Joule for Consultants, either held on appointment or achieved within 90 days of joining.
