Your new role – challenging and future-oriented

We are seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager with a strong mechanical engineering background to handle sales and marketing activities for large-scale power plant projects including Waste Heat recovery (WHR) biomass, biogas, plants. The role requires deep expertise in market knowledge and intelligence for above solutions and exposure to various industries including Steel and Cement as a must. The candidate will drive lead generation, proposal management, and end-to-end customer handling from lead generation up to negotiations to ensure quarterly and annual business targets for the business / division.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement sales strategies for business area defined.
  • Forecast Sales based on market intelligence, competitors’ information, benchmarking, planning for project/ solution business mentioned above.
  • Lead generation, end-end handling of customers from lead generation to contract negotiations in line with business unit’s targets.

Proposal Management

  • Identify, and evaluate the lead and offer most suitable solution to customer with timely response to customer, submission of C& Ds, technical proposal, commercial proposal.
  • Ensure technical closure/ sign off with customer in alignment with the proposal team.
  • Ensure submission of commercial proposal to customer.
  • Negotiation on price, payment terms, delivery terms, scope and all other aspects of the proposal.
  • Ensure alignment with Legal & commercial team members for smooth contract signing with customer.
  • Manage both domestic as well as international leads, aligning with regional entities of Siemens.

Order / Contract Management

  • Ensure order booking in system in coordination with commercial and legal team.
  • Ensure timely receipt of 1st advance, submission of Bank guarantees if any in timely manner.
  • Ensure technical contract signing between proposal team and customer in a time-bound manner.
  • Align with all the internal procedures and complete them as per the milestones defined for each sales lead/ enquiry.

Project Execution

  • Period Check on customer satisfaction level during the project execution and maintain good relations with customers by aligning with the project manager.
  • Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, legal requirements, and contractual commitments.
  • Enforce transparent and ethical sales practices.
  • Manage market risk and opportunities for business continuity.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of overall EPC power plant projects (biomass, WHR (Preferred), biogas, coal).
  • Expertise in turbine generators, boilers, pressure vessels, piping systems, heat exchangers, cooling towers, pumps, compressors, balance-of-plant items.
  • Proven track record in domestic / international Sales, for similar products / similar industry.
  • Strong presentation skills, negotiation skills, customer management skills, internal team management skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional stakeholder management.
  • Sales tools proficiency (SFDC or equivalent) with strong analytical and reporting

We don’t need superheroes, just super minds:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical preferred; Electrical/Instrumentation exposure desirable).
  • MBA or PG Diploma in Sales/ Marketing Management (preferred).
  • 12–15 years of Sales & marketing experience in EPC power plant projects (biomass, WHR, coal, biogas).
  • Demonstrated experience in large-capex projects/ solutions (>₹50 Cr project scale).
