Global Bonusing Governance (GBG) is part of Global Strategy & Capabilities team within Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS). GBG is responsible for the creation, governance and maintenance of Merchant industry categories used to reward Cardmembers. Industry Bonusing is a key component of American Express card value propositions, driving Cardmember spend and loyalty.

GBG collaborates cross-functionally with US Consumer Services, Global Commercial Services, International Card Services, Technology, Legal, Compliance and Control Management teams to ensure accurate fulfilment of the customer promise.

The Analyst, B30 role will support GBG risk, control, audit, and issue management activities with a strong focus on operational risk, control execution and governance. This is an individual contributor role requiring specialized knowledge of audit, control management, PRSA and RCSA processes. The colleague in this role will help strengthen control discipline, support remediation activities and ensure the team operates in line with enterprise risk expectations and governance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update process flows, SOPs and Control documentation on a regular basis.
  • Support issue management, remediation tracking and closure evidence for GBG-owned events including action item follow-up and documentation.
  • Assist with audit and exam readiness activities including gathering responses to internal and external audit inquiries, validating supporting evidence and tracking completion of requests.
  • Execute and document PRSA and RCSA activities including control identification, assessment support, testing coordination and follow-up on gaps or action plans.
  • Support the management of Cardmember, regulatory and executive-level complaints, ensuring timely resolution, accurate documentation and adherence to SLAs.
  • Analyze processes and workflows to identify control weaknesses, process gaps and opportunities for control enhancement.
  • Support ongoing governance routines and reporting related to risk, controls, complaints and audit activity.
  • Provide clear, timely and accurate communication to key stakeholders and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Contribute to a strong control culture by ensuring processes are executed consistently, documented properly and aligned with enterprise expectations.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in audit, control management, operational risk or governance-related functions.
  • Strong knowledge of PRSA, RCSA, control design, control execution and issue management.
  • Ability to analyze processes and workflows and draw conclusions on control gaps and remediation needs.
  • Experience supporting audit readiness, evidence collection and response coordination.
