Job Description
The Enterprise Risk Management and Risk Oversight Organization within Global Risk and Compliance (GRC) is responsible for identifying and managing risk across all processes and geographies at American Express.
We are seeking experienced Risk and compliance professionals who want to be a part of the evolution for the next generation of risk management.
Incumbent will be part of Enterprise Risk Management team, American Express Banking Corp., India within the GRC organization and will roll into the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) team of AEBC India. The incumbent will support in providing an oversight of risks impacting AEBC India covering Operational Risk such as Third Party ,Data and Processing, Execution & Change etc. particularly in the context of implementation of the Bank’s transformation initiative of migration to new set of platforms and capabilities (both consumer and corporate portfolio) .The incumbent will work with a team of risk professionals in India and will be responsible for identifying, measuring, monitoring, and reporting on the risks.
Responsibilities
- Monitor risk appetite thresholds and escalation triggers across key risk types, with a focus on Operational risks (Processing, Execution & Change, Third Party, Data, Conduct).
- Identify and evaluate risks associated with the bank’s platform transformation, including issuing product migrations to new platforms and capabilities across risk pillars such as Credit, Processing, Execution & Change, Third Party etc. and creating awareness amongst senior management as needed.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide independent oversight across business processes and transformation initiatives covering Third-party lifecycle management.
- Develop and implement data-driven Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor Third Party operational performance
- Perform ad hoc analysis to assess underlying risk drivers and support risk leadership with actionable insights
- Conduct process testing and assess control design and operating effectiveness for critical vendors
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in operational and compliance risk management, preferably within a Bank/fintech or NBFC
- Graduation/post-graduation from top-tier institute.
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
- Prior experience of working on SQL (Hive & Big Query) & Python
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with laws, rules and regulations applicable to credit cards, banking, merchant services, network, payments industry, and data protection, etc.
