The role of a Store Keeper, code 13J25, is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of inventory management within an organization. The Store Keeper is responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and issuance of goods in the storage facility. Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the store department.
  • Receive and inspect all incoming materials and reconcile with purchase orders.
  • Track and document shipments, and address any discrepancies as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels and perform regular audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control systems to optimize stock levels.
  • Prepare and maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
  • Coordinate and collaborate closely with sales and operations departments.
  • Develop strategies to optimize inventory turnover and reduce wastage.
  • Ensure the store is compliant with health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Supervise and train store staff in inventory management and control processes.
  • Schedule and lead regular inventories and cycle counts of all products.
  • Maintain the store area clean, organized, and safe for all personnel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred in business.
  • Proven experience as a storekeeper or similar position with excellent records.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management software and MS Office proficiency.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills are essential.
  • Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and carrying heavy items.
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail capabilities.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if needed.
