Job Description

The role of a Store Keeper is pivotal in maintaining and managing the inventory, ensuring that the organization’s supply chain requirements are efficiently met. Store Keepers are responsible for managing stock levels, ordering supplies, receiving incoming inventory, and storing goods in a manner that's accessible and organized. They bridge the gap between the demand and supply of goods within a business, making sure that all operations run smoothly without any shortage or surplus. Furthermore, a Store Keeper 10A26 must have an acute attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills to stay abreast of all the latest stock and inventory trends and manage them effectively. Being at the heart of material management, they play a crucial part in ensuring the seamless operations of all departments by providing the necessary resources in a timely manner.


Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect all incoming supplies and reconcile with purchase orders.
  • Ensure the storage of goods in accordance with safety standards and protocols.
  • Maintain clear and concise records of inventory levels, deliveries, and shipments.
  • Regularly update and maintain the inventory management system for accuracy.
  • Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to streamline supply processes.
  • Conduct regular audits of inventory to minimize discrepancies and losses.
  • Organize stock in an orderly manner and ensure easy retrieval when required.
  • Monitor and report any inventory shortages, discrepancies, or surplus immediately.
  • Ensure all storage areas are organized and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Facilitate the timely dispatch of products according to customer demands and schedules.
  • Respond promptly to requests from various departments for stock and supplies.
  • Coordinate with service providers for the maintenance of storage equipment and facilities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Store Keeper or in a relevant inventory role.
  • Familiarity with inventory management software to track and manage supplies.
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping skills are essential for this role.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and organizing supplies.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills to liaise with other departments.
  • Keen attention to detail to ensure inventory accuracy and effective management.
  • Knowledge of inventory auditing procedures to maintain organizational standards.
