Job Description

The Senior Storekeeper plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing all aspects of the store's inventory and warehouse operations. This position involves supervising the receipt, storage, and issuance of supplies, materials, and equipment. As a Senior Storekeeper, you will ensure the effective management of stock levels, maintain organized storage facilities, and uphold safety protocols. You will work closely with purchasing departments, suppliers, and other stakeholders to optimize inventory control and streamline operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead a team effectively. You will also be responsible for generating reports, analyzing inventory data, and driving improvements in the logistics and supply chain processes.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
  • Supervise the receipt, storage, and issuance of inventory and equipment.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all inventory transactions are maintained.
  • Coordinate with purchasing departments to manage orders and delivery timelines.
  • Implement safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Develop and implement inventory management procedures and best practices.
  • Provide leadership and training to storekeeping staff and warehouse workers.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with inventory policies and procedures.
  • Generate detailed reports and analyses to inform management decisions.
  • Resolve discrepancies in inventory records and investigate shortages or overages.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support logistics and supply chain efforts to optimize inventory turnover rates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in inventory management or warehouse operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities required.
  • Knowledge of safety and health regulations within warehouse environments.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with various departments.
