Job Description

A Restaurant Receptionist acts as the first point of contact for guests at a dining establishment, often setting the tone for their dining experience. Responsibilities

  • Manage phone lines for reservations, cancellations, and other guest inquiries efficiently.
  • Utilize reservation software to schedule and confirm reservations accurately.
  • Provide guests with estimated wait times during high-traffic periods in the restaurant.
  • Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to communicate guest needs and preferences.
  • Ensure the reception and waiting areas remain clean, organized, and presentable.
  • Assist guests with seating arrangements based on reservation details and preferences.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the restaurant menu, specials, and events.
  • Handle customer complaints or concerns with professionalism and a problem-solving attitude.
  • Keep track of special events, birthdays, and anniversaries to enhance guest experience.
  • Coordinate the seamless transition between seating arrangements and table turnover.
  • Collect guest feedback and relay important insights to the management team.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working as a receptionist or in a similar front-of-house role.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage warmly with guests.
  • Proficiency in using restaurant reservation software and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage reservations and waiting lists effectively.
  • Ability to multitask and manage high-pressure situations with ease and professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve guest issues promptly.
