Job Description

The Restaurant Receptionist is a vital component of our hospitality team, serving as the initial point of contact for all our guests. This role requires an individual with exceptional interpersonal skills and a welcoming demeanor, ensuring an outstanding first impression as guests enter the establishment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing reservations, maintaining organized schedules, and providing information about the restaurant’s menu and services. Additionally, coordinating with the restaurant staff to optimize dining arrangements and maintaining a smooth flow of guests are key aspects of the job. The Restaurant Receptionist must also possess an ability to handle various administrative tasks and possess a keen attention to detail and organizational prowess. With a commitment to hospitality excellence, the receptionist ensures that each guest’s experience begins and ends on a high note.


Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the restaurant.
  • Manage reservations and scheduling to optimize seating arrangements for guests.
  • Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists effectively to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate with the kitchen and serving staff to optimize and improve guest services.
  • Answer incoming calls and handle inquiries related to the restaurant quickly and efficiently.
  • Assist guests with special requests and provide information regarding the menu and services.
  • Coordinate with other staff to maintain cleanliness and organization in the reception area.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the availability and menu features offered by the restaurant.
  • Process payment transactions for reservations and other services as required.
  • Resolve guest complaints calmly and professionally to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while managing the guest flow.
  • Maintain guest records, including contact information and reservation details accurately.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a receptionist, ideally within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective guest interaction.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail to manage reservations and schedules.
  • Proficiency in using reservation and point of sale software systems effectively.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer service-oriented attitude with professional appearance and demeanor.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality training is a plus.
