Job Description

The Purchase Executive is responsible for executing procurement strategies to ensure the smooth functioning of the organization's purchasing department. This role requires analytical prowess to assess various supply options, negotiate with vendors for the best prices without compromising quality, and ensure timely delivery of goods. A Purchase Executive collaborates with multiple departments within the organization to understand their needs and also liaises with external partners to maintain excellent supplier relationships. In addition to managing and optimizing procurement processes, the Purchase Executive must maintain records and analyze market trends to forecast future procurement needs. A highly organized and detail-oriented professional, the Purchase Executive actively participates in budget management, inventory control, and contributes to cost management strategies.


Responsibilities

  • Analyze and assess various supply chain options to fulfill procurement needs.
  • Conduct supplier negotiations to secure the most favorable pricing and terms.
  • Liaise with internal departments to understand and fulfill purchasing requirements.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with trusted suppliers and vendors.
  • Oversee the procurement cycles and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Conduct regular reviews of existing contracts to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of procurement activities.
  • Monitor market trends to anticipate changes in raw material costs and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with the organization's procurement policies and guidelines.
  • Establish inventory control measures to optimize stock levels and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with finance team to manage budgets and forecast procurement needs.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of procurement processes and systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role within a similar industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence supplier agreements effectively.
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret purchasing data and trends effectively.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and systems, such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
