Job Description

An MEP Engineer plays a critical role in the construction and building sector, being responsible for the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aspects of a project. Their expertise is crucial in ensuring that building systems are designed, installed, and maintained effectively to meet project and safety standards. They collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and other construction professionals to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into building designs. MEP Engineers are involved from the initial stages of design through to the completion of the construction project, ensuring efficiency and compliance with all relevant codes and regulations. As an MEP Engineer, you will also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving any issues with existing systems, recommending upgrades and improvements, and ensuring that all work is completed to the highest quality standards.


Responsibilities

  • Design and implement mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for buildings.
  • Collaborate with architects and construction teams to integrate MEP systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor MEP systems installation progress.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to MEP systems performance.
  • Prepare detailed specifications and contract documents for MEP works.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to procure necessary MEP materials.
  • Analyze MEP system performance data and recommend efficiency improvements.
  • Maintain project documentation and records throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project team members.
  • Participate in project meetings and present updates on MEP progress.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies for existing MEP systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP engineering or related role.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and construction safety standards.
  • Proficient in CAD software for designing MEP systems and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.
