Job Description

A Medical Representative plays a critical role in the pharmaceutical industry, acting as a connecting bridge between healthcare professionals and the products offered by pharma companies. The primary objective of a Medical Representative is to promote and sell their company's products, which can include pharmaceutical drugs and medical devices, to a variety of customers including doctors, pharmacists, and hospitals. They build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers, ensuring they are aware of new developments and treatments. This position requires excellent communication skills, an in-depth understanding of medical products, and the ability to persuade and influence healthcare professionals to consider the products being offered. A Medical Representative must stay updated on industry trends, understand the competitive landscape, and be adaptable to the ever-evolving healthcare sector.


Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining strong business relationships with key healthcare professionals.
  • Conducting product presentations and demonstrations to highlight benefits and features.
  • Organizing and attending medical conferences and promotional events to increase product awareness.
  • Achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and market share goals.
  • Providing detailed information about pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals.
  • Monitoring competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing and products.
  • Preparing reports on sales performance and market analytics for management review.
  • Ensuring compliance with local, regional, and national regulations and guidelines.
  • Handling customer queries and resolving complaints promptly and efficiently.
  • Collaborating with marketing teams to create strategies and promotional plans.
  • Providing feedback from the market to aid in product development and adjustments.
  • Continuously updating knowledge of medicinal products and industry trends and advancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience as a Medical Representative or in a related sales position.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with healthcare professionals.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and adapt to flexible working hours.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and compliance guidelines is preferred.
