A Manual QA Tester plays a crucial role in the software development lifecycle by ensuring that the software complies with all quality specifications before it's released to the end-users. Responsibilities

• Design, create, and execute manual test cases and test scripts to ensure thorough testing of all software systems.
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to understand business requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Log detailed defect reports and work with the development team to verify fixes and resolve issues.
• Ensure all components of the software meet functional and design specifications before production deployment.
• Participate in requirement reviews to provide input on test coverage and testability concerns.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Conduct regression testing on modified code to identify and resolve any new issues introduced.
• Verify software usability by evaluating user interfaces and ensuring consistency with design standards.
• Collaborate with the automation team to identify candidates for test automation and improve test efficiency.
• Assist in risk assessment reviews to determine potential impact areas and prioritize testing efforts.
• Maintain open communication channels with stakeholders to keep them informed of testing progress and outcomes.
• Continuously explore and recommend improvements in testing processes and methodologies for effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Manual QA Tester or similar role in software testing.
• Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a thorough attention to detail for identifying bugs.
• Proficient in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Familiarity with various testing tools and defect management software like JIRA or Bugzilla.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and understanding of the software development lifecycle.
