Responsibilities

• Create detailed technical drawings and plans using CAD software according to specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, or designers to gather relevant project information.
• Interpret design concepts and translate them into technical documents and blueprints.
• Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and enhancements in project design.
• Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and governmental regulations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advanced drafting tools and materials specifications.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates and project timeline estimates as required.
• Coordinate with construction or manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility.
• Input technical data into electronic database systems for benchmarking and compliance needs.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior draftspersons and apprentice draftsmen.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on drawings prior to formal submission and review.
• Utilize freehand sketching to quickly adapt or convey design changes during meetings.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
• Proficient in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar applications.
• Strong understanding of engineering and architectural principles and practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in design work.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with diverse project stakeholders and teams.
• Previous experience in drafting or technical drawing within a specialized industry.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
