Job Description

In the role of a Contract Management Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing an organization's contracts throughout their life cycle. This position requires a keen eye for detail, as you will be expected to ensure that all contractual obligations are met in a timely and satisfactory manner. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including legal, procurement, and operational teams, to draft, review, negotiate, and monitor contracts. A successful Contract Management Officer needs to possess robust organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of contract law to support the organization's strategic objectives effectively. Your expertise will contribute significantly to risk management, compliance, and performance optimization, ensuring that all contracts support the company's goals while safeguarding its interests.


Responsibilities

  • Review and draft legal documents ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with external stakeholders and legal representatives.
  • Maintain a detailed record of all contractual agreements and document changes promptly.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to facilitate timely contract execution and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies through diligent contract oversight.
  • Evaluate contracts to identify potential risks and opportunities for the organization.
  • Advise management and teams on contract terms, conditions, and obligations regularly.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee contract management tools and systems effectively.
  • Lead meetings to discuss contractual issues and propose solutions proactively.
  • Analyze market trends and legal updates impacting contract management practices.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on contract management procedures and processes.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on contract status and compliance to senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in contract management or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of contractual terms, conditions, and legal requirements is essential.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a keen ability to influence outcomes effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and related technological tools is necessary.
