Responsibilities

• Assist the head baker in the preparation and production of bakery items.
• Measure and mix ingredients to prepare dough and batter as directed.
• Monitor baking times and temperatures, ensuring breads and pastries are perfectly baked.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization in the baking area at all times.
• Support the team with packing and presenting baked goods for display and sale.
• Assist with inventory checks and report shortages to the lead baker.
• Follow all safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist in decorating cakes and pastries to maintain high visual appeal.
• Answer customer queries and take special orders, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Label and rotate stock, ensuring first-in-first-out stocking method.
• Maintain and operate bakers' equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
• Participate in cleaning and sanitation activities to maintain bakery hygiene.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Bakery Assistant or in a similar role preferred.
• Knowledge of baking techniques and the ability to follow recipes accurately.
• Ability to work early morning shifts and extended hours as needed.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
• Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Ability to lift heavy items and endure physical activity for extended periods.
