Job Description

The Assistant Manager - Production plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the production department. This position is responsible for overseeing production processes, optimizing workflows, and ensuring that production targets are consistently met. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the production team to identify areas for improvement, implement strategies to enhance productivity, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Serving as a key liaison between the production floor and senior management, the Assistant Manager must have excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team. The ideal candidate is someone with a strong background in manufacturing, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to drive continuous improvement initiatives.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production operations to ensure targets are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic production plans.
  • Monitor production processes and identify areas requiring improvement for enhanced efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Supervise and support the production team, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff to address equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend optimization strategies.
  • Prepare and present detailed production reports to senior management on a regular basis.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to promote organizational compliance.
  • Facilitate communication between the production team and other departments effectively.
  • Oversee inventory management to ensure materials are available when needed.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to boost production quality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Production Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production role.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and production operations effectively.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, equipment, and safety standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to drive process improvements.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills to motivate and guide teams.
  • Proficiency in using production management software and tools is essential.
