Tech Lead – Rediff Bangalore

looking for an experienced Tech Lead to help architect and build the next generation of scalable

products and platforms.

As a Tech Lead, you will play a critical role in driving technical strategy, architecture, and

execution across multiple initiatives. You will lead engineering teams in designing and

developing highly available, distributed systems that solve complex challenges in search, data

processing, platform scalability, catalog management, seller ecosystems, and enterprise

communication. You will work closely with Product Managers, Architects, and Engineering

leaders to deliver impactful solutions at scale.

This role is ideal for engineers who are passionate about solving large-scale technical problems

involving data, search, distributed systems, and platform engineering while mentoring and

leading high-performing teams.

Key Focus Areas

Commerce Platforms

• Seller Platform powering onboarding, management, and growth of merchants.
• Large-scale Accounting and Financial Systems for eCommerce and Food Commerce

• Catalog Management Platforms supporting millions of products and complex enterprise
  
  
  

commerce workflows.

Enterprise Communication Platforms

• Large-scale Enterprise Email infrastructure.
• Search and Discovery systems for enterprise communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable, high-performance
  
  
  

distributed systems.

• Own technical delivery and provide end-to-end leadership from concept to production.
• Drive architectural decisions, technical roadmaps, and engineering best practices.
• Solve complex challenges related to search, indexing, storage, scalability, performance,
  
  
  

and reliability.

• Mentor engineers, conduct design reviews, and elevate engineering excellence across
  
  
  

teams.

• Collaborate with Product, Business, and Engineering stakeholders to define and deliver
  
  
  

strategic initiatives.

• Drive operational excellence through automation, monitoring, and continuous
  
  
  

improvement.

• Participate in technical hiring and help build a strong engineering organization.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, secure, and scalable software solutions.
• Foster innovation through technical thought leadership, architectural improvements, and
  
  
  

intellectual property creation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including technical
  
  
  

leadership responsibilities.

• Strong expertise in Java, C++, or similar object-oriented programming languages.
• Proven experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, reliability, performance
  
  
  

optimization, and cloud-native systems.

• Experience working on search technologies, data-intensive platforms, or high-volume
  
  
  

transaction systems is highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of databases, caching technologies, messaging systems, and
  
  
  

distributed computing.

• Excellent understanding of algorithms, data structures, and system design principles.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineering teams.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building large-scale search, indexing, recommendation, or data platform
  
  
  

solutions.

• Experience with marketplace, eCommerce, fintech, communication, or SaaS products.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and modern distributed architectures.
• Proven track record of delivering systems serving millions of users.
• Strong technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration experience.
