Job Responsibilities

Magna IT is looking for a System Engineer with a strong focus on building and operating a centralized Intune Data Warehouse and establishing reliable device compliance monitoring. The role is responsible for integrating multiple data sources (e.g., Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, Matrix42 ITSM database, Nexthink) into a central database, enabling customized queries and Power BI dashboards for operational and management reporting. In close collaboration with MIT colleagues and Divisional IT, the position ensures device compliance is continuously tracked, validated, and restored where required.

Major Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate a centralized data platform for Modern Workplace reporting (Intune Data Warehouse as core, plus additional sources as required)
• Integrate and harmonize data from Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, Matrix42 ITSM DB, Nexthink and other relevant systems into a central database (ETL/ELT)
• Develop and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (or comparable tooling) including scheduling, error handling, and operational monitoring
• Create and optimize SQL-based data models, views and custom queries to support operational reporting and analytics
• Automate data extraction and operational tasks using Microsoft Graph API, Entra ID concepts, and scripting (PowerShell / Python)
• Build and maintain Power BI datasets and dashboards (including KPI definitions, refresh, and access management) for different stakeholder groups
• Own and continuously improve device compliance monitoring (e.g., free disk space, BitLocker status, anti-virus, M365 Apps versions, patch/health indicators) across all Intune managed devices (Android, iOS, Windows, MacOS)
• Coordinate and drive remediation with MIT and Divisional IT to restore compliance (runbooks, escalation paths, follow-up, and reporting)
• Ensure data quality, consistency and compliance (data definitions, validation checks, documentation, and auditability of metrics)
• Provide 2nd/3rd level support for reporting, automation and compliance monitoring topics; consult internal teams on usage of dashboards and insights
• Participation in on-call rotation for the reporting/compliance monitoring service (as required)
  
  

Knowledge and Education

• Preferably Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a relevant field.
• Completed education of a technical college.
  
  

Work Experience And Skills

• 2–3 years of experience in endpoint management analytics / reporting (Intune strongly preferred), including data extraction and operational reporting
• Strong SQL skills (querying, performance tuning basics, data modeling; building views/stored procedures is a plus)
• Experience with Microsoft Graph API and Entra ID (identity and device objects, permissions, app registrations, authentication concepts)
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (or equivalent) and building reliable ETL/ELT pipelines across multiple sources
• Power BI skills (data modeling, DAX basics, dashboard design, row-level security concepts)
• Strong scripting/automation skills in PowerShell and/or Python (APIs, scheduling, logging, error handling)
• Understanding of endpoint compliance concepts and telemetry (e.g., Intune compliance, BitLocker, AV/Defender signals, application versioning, device health indicators; Nexthink is a plus)
