In this role, youll tackle complex challenges in financial data processing, creating automated solutions that enable accurate book closures and seamless migrations.

As a SysDE on the TFS team, youll work on high-impact projects that directly improve how Amazon manages transportation finances. Youll design device automations for large-scale migrations, build metric-generation systems that provide financial visibility, and create mechanisms that proactively address customer issues. Your work will enable business teams to operate more efficiently while ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial operations that support millions of deliveries worldwide.
As an ideal candidate, you have experience in developing automation and operating complex systems in a production environment. You apply system engineering and development practices to ensure your automation is both reliable and correct. Your technical knowledge includes Linux systems and networking.

Key job responsibilities
Design and implement automated solutions for device migrations and financial system transitions, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations
Develop metric generation systems and reporting tools that enable accurate financial book closures and provide visibility into transportation financial operations
Write clean, maintainable code using optimal data structures and algorithms while considering tradeoffs, limitations, and performance constraints
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues by addressing support tickets, diagnosing system problems, and implementing solutions that improve customer experience
Enhance existing features and build new capabilities that simplify adoption for internal customers and improve the overall reliability of financial systems
You should be able to triage situations quickly and work well with other engineers. We want you to be the best version of yourself – to continuously evolve and improve


A day in the life
Youll start your day reviewing support tickets and prioritizing issues that impact financial reconciliation and ledger posting configurations accuracy. You might spend developing automated solutions for upcoming migrations, ingestions then collaborate with partner teams to enable new reports needed for monthly and quarterly book closures. You could be enhancing system features to make data adoption easier for business teams or debugging a complex issue in the metric generation pipeline. Throughout the day, youll participate in code reviews, learn from experienced engineers, and contribute to technical discussions that shape the future of transportation financial systems.

Basic Qualifications: - Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
