As a Staff Data Engineer, you will demonstrate expert skills across all data technologies while defining and aligning technology strategy with corporate goals and marketplace advances. You’ll set enterprise-wide data engineering standards and establish AI innovation frameworks that drive digital transformation across the organization.
Leading technology teams inclusively, you’ll make critical technical decisions that impact enterprise-wide Data Engineering strategy. This role requires full ownership of complex initiatives and end-to-end product development while serving as a subject matter expert across multiple disciplines and facilitating high-level cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities:
Enterprise Technology Leadership
Define and implement enterprise-wide data engineering standards and best practices
Design comprehensive AI innovation frameworks that guide organizational technology adoption
Align data technology strategy with corporate objectives and emerging marketplace trends
Lead digital transformation initiatives through strategic data engineering solutions
Strategic Architecture & Innovation
Make critical technology decisions that impact enterprise-scale data architecture and strategy
Design and oversee complex data initiatives with enterprise-wide scope and impact
Drive end-to-end product development for strategic data platforms and solutions
Identify and implement innovative technologies that provide competitive advantages
Organizational Leadership
Lead technology teams inclusively while fostering innovation and technical excellence
Serve as subject matter expert across multiple data engineering disciplines
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between engineering, product, business, and executive teams
Influence senior leadership on data strategy, technology investments, and strategic direction
Technology Vision & Strategy
Develop comprehensive technology roadmaps aligned with business strategy and market trends
Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, particularly in AI, automation, and cloud-native solutions
Drive adoption of advanced data engineering practices across the enterprise
Champion innovation culture and technical excellence throughout the organization
Qualifications
Experience & Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
8-12 years of progressive experience in data engineering with demonstrated leadership impact
Proven track record of enterprise-wide technical leadership and strategic technology implementation
Experience defining technology strategy and leading digital transformation initiatives
Technical Skills & Competencies
Expert Technical Skills: Master-level expertise in Python, full-stack development, Azure services, and advanced data modeling
Strategic Architecture: Proven ability to design and implement enterprise-scale data architecture and solutions
AI/Automation Leadership: Deep expertise in AI frameworks, automation platforms, and their strategic implementation
Technology Strategy: Experience aligning technology roadmaps with business strategy and market trends
Innovation Leadership: Track record of identifying, evaluating, and implementing innovative technology solutions
Cross-Platform Expertise: Deep knowledge across multiple cloud platforms and data technology stacks
Communication: Enterprise-wide impact, AI framework leadership, multi-discipline SME, organizational transformation
Learning & Growth: Technology strategy experience, ROI analysis capability, business alignment
