Job Description

Description

We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM III) to join Amazons Trustworthy Shopping Experience (TSE) Applied Science team. In this role, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of large, complex, cross-functional AI programs — driving Generative AI and ML research from proof-of-concept through production deployment at Amazon scale.

You will work at the intersection of applied science, engineering, and business — partnering with world-class scientists, engineers, and key stakeholders to transform innovative AI solutions into systems that protect the shopping experience of hundreds of millions of customers. You will define program strategy, exercise strong technical judgment on ML architectures and research-to-production pipelines, and drive alignment across science, engineering, product, legal, and policy teams within the organization.

The ideal candidate delivers independently in ambiguous environments, communicates complex trade-offs clearly to internal and external stakeholders, and builds scalable mechanisms that improve how the org moves from research to real-world impact. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role at the forefront of agentic AI, LLMs, and autonomous reasoning systems — where your work will reach customers within months, not years.

Key job responsibilities

Lead end-to-end delivery of high-impact AI/ML programs — taking Generative AI innovations from early research through production systems that serve hundreds of millions of customers, with direct ownership and accountability for outcomes.

Define program strategy, set measurable goals, and drive delivery independently in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where both the business problem and technical solution are still taking shape.

Apply strong technical judgment to challenge assumptions, simplify complex ML architectures, and ensure science and engineering teams are focused on solving the right problems in the right way.

Proactively identify and mitigate risks across the full research-to-production pipeline — including data quality, model performance, inference latency, and system scalability — before they become roadblocks to delivery.

Build alignment across Applied Scientists, ML Engineers, Software Engineers, Product Managers, and business stakeholders — driving crisp decisions, clearing blockers, and removing barriers that slow down research and production delivery.

Communicate program progress, research milestones, and complex trade-offs clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all levels, building consensus on key technical and business decisions.

Continuously improve the mechanisms and processes that move AI research into reliable, scalable production systems faster — enabling science and engineering teams to focus on high-value innovation.
