About The Role

The Security Engineering team at Uber is focused on making the production and corporate environments secure by default to provide industry-leading solutions for Ubers production services and infrastructure. As a Senior Software Engineer in the Enterprise Application Security team, you will leverage your solid software engineering background in building solutions to ensure the protection of enterprise applications from evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced security solutions to strengthen Ubers security posture by securing various enterprise applications.

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

• Design and implement secure architectures for enterprise applications, ensuring industry best practices.
• Hands-on coding and code reviews
• Build, deploy, configure, and manage a variety of enterprise security solutions, including the Security Posture Management platform.
• Monitor, analyze, and remediate security risks across enterprise applications.
• Provide technical and engineering support to security and IT teams performing regular security assessments.
  
  

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in software engineering
• Strong hands-on technical skills, including proficiency in one or more programming languages (Go, Java, Python, C/C++) and code reviews
• Deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, system design, and architecture.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess security risks and implement effective solutions.

• Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, tools, and best practices. Certifications in Security is a plus
• Experience with AI/ML technologies / frameworks and incorporating them into production systems
• Experience with SQL, Kafka and databases (including Spark, Hive, SQL, No-SQL etc)
• Experience with modern development practices (e.g., CI/CD, microservices, cloud platforms like AWS/GCP).
• Experience in building out integrations with open-source and vendor products
• Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) for security operations
