The Amazon Connectivity team designs connectivity software solutions for Amazon devices encompassing wide range of products including the Fire TV family of devices.

This position is for a seasoned Sr Software Development Engineer in the Wi-Fi SW connectivity organization. You can be part of a fast-paced, agile and innovative team who is bringing new connectivity experiences to the exciting range of devices in a startup like environment.

Key job responsibilities

Role

As a Sr Software Development Engineer - Connectivity, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to innovate and deliver high-performance, low-power, stable connectivity platform for world class consumer products. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment. In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop and enhance Wi-Fi software for Amazons consumer products;
  • Optimize Wi-Fi performance and power consumption for connectivity platforms;
  • Engage with vendors to integrate Wi-Fi chipset solutions;
  • Collaborate with other software teams to design and deliver unique customer features on top of Wi-Fi for next-gen Amazon products;
  • Provide Amazon Customer Support technical assistance to trouble shoot customer issues;

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
  • Bachelors degree
  • Hands-on experience in IEEE802.11/Wi-Fi protocols and extensions
  • Experience with Wi-Fi development and debugging tools such as wireless sniffers and protocol analyzers
  • Experience with Android and Linux development on kernel, device drivers, and frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have prior experience with Wi-Fi solutions from one or more major Wi-Fi chipset vendors
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP internals and common Networking protocols such as DHCP, DNS, HTTP, and etc.
