Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Principal Structural Engineer to lead the design and execution of E‑Houses (Electrical Houses), skid-mounted modular systems, and industrial steel structures for U.S.-based and global projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong Mechanical Engineering background, extensive experience performing structural calculations, and direct involvement in steel skid and modular building design from concept through fabrication, transport, and installation.

This role serves as a technical authority, providing leadership across engineering, fabrication, and construction teams while ensuring full compliance with U.S. design codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Structural Engineering & Analysis

  • Lead structural design and analysis for:
    • E‑Houses / MCC & control buildings
    • Skid-mounted equipment packages
    • Modular and prefabricated steel structures
  • Perform and approve structural calculations, including:
    • Dead, live, equipment, wind, snow, seismic, transportation, and lifting loads
    • Anchorage, base plates, bolted and welded connections
    • Skid frame and foundation interface analysis
  • Produce signed calculation packages when required
  • Develop and maintain project-specific design criteria and standards

Codes, Standards & Compliance

  • Ensure designs comply with applicable U.S. codes and standards, including:
    • AISC (Steel Construction Manual)
    • ASCE 7 (Minimum Design Loads)
    • IBC (International Building Code)
    • AWS D1.1 (Structural Welding Code)
    • Applicable state and local codes
  • Support permitting, third‑party reviews, and regulatory submissions

Project Execution & Technical Leadership

  • Act as principal engineer and technical point of contact for structural scope
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, civil, and piping disciplines
  • Review and approve vendor and fabricator drawings
  • Provide technical support during:
    • Fabrication and assembly
    • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
    • Transportation, lifting, and site installation
  • Mentor and review work of junior and mid-level engineers

Design Tools & Documentation

  • Prepare and review:
    • Structural layouts and fabrication drawings
    • Calculation reports and technical documentation
    • Bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Utilize analysis and design tools such as:
    • STAAD, SAP2000, SACS, RISA, or similar
    • AutoCAD and/or 3D modeling tools (Tekla, Inventor, or similar preferred)
    • Required Qualifications
      • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Structural Engineering degree also acceptable)
      • 7–10+ years of relevant U.S. industrial experience
      • Demonstrated expertise in:
        • E‑House structural design
        • Skid and modular package design
        • Structural steel and connection design
      • Strong working knowledge of U.S. codes and load combinations
      • Experience working with U.S. fabricators and construction teams
      • Ability to work independently and lead complex technical scopes
    Preferred Qualifications

    • Professional Engineer (PE) license (active or eligible within the U.S.)
    • Master’s degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering
    • Experience in power generation, substations, oil & gas, data centers, or renewables
    • Familiarity with modular construction, transportation studies, and lifting analysis
    • Experience supporting both U.S. domestic and international projects
