This role demands the agility to navigate across multiple functions seamlessly, the resilience to thrive in a fast paced environment, excitement to handle challenges head-on and excellence in analytical abilities.

The Category Leader, will be a key advocate for customers within Amazon -- building a world-class discovery and purchase experience for customers, expanding selection, and helping to define, shape and execute long-term strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will have experience working with external vendors in areas such as strategic planning and contract negotiations; experience working with internal teams to build innovative, new technology; and excellent verbal and written communication skills. He or she must have the analytical horsepower to break down complex problems, and a strong will to get stuff done and deliver results no matter the obstacles. Key to success also include a strong interest in the industry, the desire to create a unique and compelling customer experience, and a passion for retail. He/she will lead a team of Category, Marketing and Operations managers. he/she will be required to balance customer needs, competitive landscape and the strategic priorities constantly.

We're seeking someone who thrives on ambiguity, harnessing their first-principle problem-solving skills to drive impactful outcomes and leveraging catgeory management experience to delivert results. Your ability to cultivate a customer-centric mindset, coupled with a penchant for out-of-the-box thinking, will be instrumental in navigating the complex landscape of our initiative.

Key job responsibilities

Lead new grocery initiative across P&L, launch of new products, category management, selection, pricing, promotions, in-stock, marketing, negotiations, contracting, shopping experience, fincial planning, network design, supply chain, shopping experience, product, analytics and operations management.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of team management experience
  • 7+ years of operational and/or retail management experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion or inventory management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading and transforming highly effective organizations
  • Experience with P&L responsibility and delivering strong financial results
