This position provides an exciting opportunity to advance your Engineering and Engineering Services career with one of the Honeywell’s most profitable and dynamic Business units. This role would support Obsolescence Management process, component management, product Cost take out efforts and other Change Management process covering engineering team, supply chain and manufacturing plants located globally across the business. In this role, you are responsible for mitigating the risk of Component Obsolescence through Reactive and Proactive approach. Effectively manage new part introduction and NPI support.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
Drive flawless Obsolescence management through short term and long-term mitigation strategies on Obs. issues.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and supply chain teams to resolve Obsolescence cases and maintain a global Obsolescence Dashboard and status of all Obsolescence cases.
Responsible for minimum downtime due to Component Obsolescence and co-own Last Time Buy Targets.
Explore and evaluate alternate components both for reactive and proactive obsolescence.
Responsible for all new component proposal and their implementation through collaborative effort with Engineering teams.
Accountable for NPI risk assessment and life cycle issue mitigation to ensure flawless product launch.
Support part standardization and technology roadmap efforts.
Support strategic business objectives like PPL, PSL and part shortage mitigation etc.
Responsible for assessing lifecycle risk of Obs. critical Components and mitigate the risk proactively
Continuous Process and Productivity improvements.
Qualifications
Experience and Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering
12+ Years of professional experience in Component Engineering, hardware development with work experience on Component Obsolescence Management.
Engineering Project/Program management experience
Experience on Product Lifecycle and Obsolescence Management
Prior experience in collaboratively working with remote/global team on new product development/designs.
Understanding of Supply Chain Management principles and procedures.
Other Skills And Traits Required
Strong Technical expertise and application needs of all electrical, electronic and electromechanical components.
Strong understanding of Component Life Cycle Status and related impacts on Product Development and Supply Chain. Proactive Obsolescence knowledge and experience.
Design-To-Cost and Design-To-Lifecycle techniques.
Components Testing, evaluation and qualification process.
Ability to understand design requirements through Schematics and Design Inputs.
A clear understanding of Component Change Management Process and PLM tools.
Exposure to full design life cycle in New product development.
Project Management basics.
Strong Microsoft Office suite skills – MS Excel/MS Access/Etc.
Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills in English.
Effective time management and able to efficiently prioritize work and timely inform stakeholders on the progress.
Able to excel in a multi-cultural Global organization.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
