About The Team And Role

TCGplayer connects hobbyists and hobby businesses to communities. We relentlessly improve the exchange of things and thoughts that fuel passions, providing the most compelling destination and tools for collectible card game enthusiasts and professional sellers! TCGplayer, now a part of eBay, promotes and drives growth of our products and services by connecting a global community of millions of buyers with tens of thousands of retailers in a $25B global collectible hobby market.

As a Software Engineer III, you will help design, build, and maintain the systems that power TCGplayers Customer Experience (CX) platform. Your work will enable our CX agents to efficiently support both Buyers and Sellers across every aspect of TCGplayers business. You will uplift legacy applications into a microservice-based architecture, integrate with internal systems of record and third-party ticketing and AI systems, and collaborate closely with other development teams to deliver a cohesive and intuitive customer support experience.

Build and deliver AI-powered features for a modern CX platform by developing LLM-based services, automation workflows, and intelligent APIs. Contribute to migration from .Net (C#) to a Python-based AI-native architecture.

What You Will Accomplish

• Develop AI-powered backend services and APIs using Python
• Build LLM-based solutions including RAG pipelines and retrieval systems
• Implement CX use cases like summarization, recommendations, and automation
• Integrate AI services with existing systems and APIs
• Optimize performance, latency, and cost of AI solutions
• Ensure production readiness with logging, monitoring, and testing
• Develop MCP, enterprise-grade agentic AI workflows, and a range of modern AI solutions
  
  
  

What You Will Bring

• 4+ years of strong experience in Python; C#/Java knowledge is a plus
• Experience with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and basic RAG concepts
• Hands-on with frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar
• API development (FastAPI/Flask) and microservices
• Basic cloud experience (AWS / Azure / GCP)
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD, Terraform.
• Relational DB: PostgreSQL, MySQL
• NoSQL: MongoDB (good to have)
• Vector DBs: Pinecone, FAISS, Weaviate, or pgvector (basic experience)
• Search: Elasticsearch (basic experience)
• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science or related field
• Experience building or integrating AI/ML solutions in production
• Experience in CX / support tools is a plus
• Exposure to evaluation and monitoring of AI systems is a plus
• Understanding of cloud-native development is a plus
