The Opportunity
The Client Distribution team owns the infrastructure that releases, delivers, and updates all Postman client applications (e.g. Desktop App, Web App, Desktop Agent, and CLI) across every supported platform and OS. Our systems are the last mile between a merged pull request and 45M+ users getting the update. We own release pipelines, artifact hosting, versioning logic, rollout controls, and the tooling that hundreds of Postman engineers and release managers depend on to ship confidently.
Responsibilities
- Own Distribution Backend Services: Design, build, and operate the backend services that host, serve, and route client artifacts to the right users at the right time.
- Accelerate Time-to-Market: Improve CI/CD automation to cut the time from pull request merge to external rollout - optimise build pipelines, artifact deployment, and release orchestration.
- Build Rollout & Release Controls: Develop and extend tier-based rollout mechanisms and rollback capabilities through backend systems and the internal dashboards.
- Instrument & Observe: Build centralised observability for client CI/CD systems and extend MCP integrations to make release lifecycle data accessible and actionable.
- Modernise Legacy Systems: Drive the migration away from legacy services to modern, maintainable infrastructure and new distribution platforms.
- Build Reusable Tooling: Create SDKs and reusable deployment actions that simplify integration across other client repos.
